Abstract(s)
Within the scope of the Master's Degree in Music Teaching, Instrument Branch, this internship report was prepared in order to reflect the work developed along the formative path. The pedagogical practice was developed at Conservatório de Música do Porto, in the subject of piano with Professor Dina Resende as a cooperating teacher and in the discipline of chamber music with Professor Maria José Souza Guedes. This practice was guided, supervised and observed based on dialogue, knowledge sharing and the observation of excellent teaching. Methodologies were drawn up focusing on students' constant motivation and the development of their critical, creative and self-assessing skills. About the title “The importance of choosing the repertoire in the student's evolution”, the research project responds partly to the challenge posed by the supervising professor and, simultaneously, to a personal interest in investigating the theme mentioned in more detail. Considering the various perspectives of different piano teachers, the question of choosing a repertoire will be deepened as well as how this choice can interfere with the student's evolution. During this reflection, the official program of the Piano Course at the National Conservatory and the current piano discipline program at the Conservatório de Música do Porto will be supported.
