Este relatório é produto do projeto Vizinhos do Teatro que nasceu da vontade de perceber quais as fronteiras do/s teatro/s enquanto instituições e as comunidades onde se inserem, assim como perceber o impacto que o fazer teatro pode ter na comunidade, na relação e proximidade entre vizinhos, nas dinâmicas de um bairro, na ativação cívica, onde a arte é entendida como um espaço privilegiado de diálogo.
A partir de um processo artístico com preocupações comunitárias tentou-se perceber porque os vizinhos dos teatros — sem abrigos, trabalhadores locais, comunidades emigrantes etc. — não são por norma as pessoas que os frequentam. Assim, criou-se este projeto como forma de pensar sobre a relação do teatro com a comunidade. O que é que as pessoas que se cruzam com uma instituição como o teatro pensam dele? E será que pensam em fazer teatro? E, da perspetiva dos Teatros, que relação se pode criar com a comunidade onde se inserem?
This report is the result of the project Vizinhos do Teatro (Neighbours of the Theatre) which came from an interest in understanding what the boundaries of theatre are within institutions and the communities that surround them. With an aim to understand the impact that the theatre can have on the community in its relationship and proximity as neighbour, in the dynamics between neighbourhoods, and in civic actions, where art is understood as a field of priviledge. Starting from the artistic process with attention to the community it attempts to understand why some neighbours of the theatre such as homeless people, local workers, immigrants, and other communities are not as a rule the people that frequent the building. What is it that the people who come into contact with an institution such as the theatre, think of it? And do they ever think of making theatre? And, for the theatre itself, what relationship is it possible to create with the community in which it exists?
