Diante de incertezas e instabilidades econômicas, o setor da construção civil no Brasil apresenta situação agravada. Em Portugal, o setor apresenta baixas sucessivas. É neste contexto, com margens de lucro reduzidas, baixa no mercado e competição acirrada frente às exigências dos clientes, que surgem ferramentas de planejamento e gestão que auxiliam as construtoras e escritórios de projeto otimizarem os processos. Assim, o BIM emerge como uma solução eficaz, que integra todos os envolvidos no projeto, tornando o processo construtivo mais enxuto. Visando pesquisar a plataforma BIM, este trabalho foi elaborado levando em consideração pesquisas teóricas e práticas, acerca do nível de implantação do BIM no mercado da construção civil brasileiro, fazendo uma comparação com o mercado português, buscando entender as dificuldades e as melhorias de implantação da tecnologia no cotidiano das empresas. Para a pesquisa prática formulou-se um questionário com empresas brasileiras e lusitanas que auxiliou na compilação e na interpretação dos dados retornados. Os resultados possibilitaram mensurar o nível de aplicação deste conceito pelas empresas dos diversos portes e segmentos de atuação entrevistadas.
In face of uncertainty and economic instability, the civil construction industry in Brazil presents situation worsened. In Portugal, the sector presents successive losses. In this context, with reduced profit margins, low market and fierce competition in face of the demands of the ustomers, which are planning and management tools that help construction companies and design firms optimize the processes. Thus, BIM emerges as an effective solution, which integrates all involved in the project, making the building process leaner. In order to search the BIM platform, this work has been prepared taking into consideration the theoretical and practical research, about the level of implementation of BIM in the Brazilian civil construction market, making a comparison with the Portuguese market, seeking to understand the difficulties and the deployment of technology improvements in daily life. For practical research a questionnaire was formulated with Brazilian and Lusitanian companies who assisted in the compilation and interpretation of data returned. The results made it possible to measure the level of implementation of this concept by companies of various sizes and segments interviewed.
