| dc.description.abstract | Este projeto de tradução versa sobre duas obras infantis da autora anglo-americana Margery Williams. Apesar de ser uma autora pouco conhecida em Portugal, é uma autora bastante reconhecida no âmbito da literatura infantil em países anglófonos como o Reino Unido e os Estados Unidos da América. Nesse sentido, é intenção deste projeto apresentar e dar a conhecer duas das suas obras mais conhecidas, o “The Velveteen Rabbit” e o “The Skin Horse”, livros cuja tradução não existe ainda em português europeu. Para o concretizar, será realizada a tradução dos dois livros, assim como, uma análise das respetivas traduções apresentando e justificando as soluções tradutórias escolhidas e avaliando a influência que o público-alvo tem nas opções tomadas. Todo este trabalho é enquadrado com um suporte teórico que permite a exploração da literatura infantil, da sua história e evolução, assim como perceber quais as suas caracteristicas principais e os desafios que apresenta do ponto de vista da tradução. É também um dos propósitos deste trabalho analisar os aspetos culturais e linguísticos envolvidos na tradução de literatura infantil. | pt_PT |
| dc.description.abstract | The purpose of this project is to translate two children books by the Anglo-American author Margery Williams, who, despite being a little-known author in Portugal, is very well-known in the field of children's literature in English-speaking countries such as the United Kingdom and the United States of America. This project aims to shed light on her work and present two of her better known works that have yet to be translated into European Portuguese, “The Velveteen Rabbit” and “The Skin Horse”. To achieve this goal, both books will be translated and an analysis of their respective translations will be done, presenting and justifying the chosen translation solutions and evaluating the influence that the target audience had on the choices made. The investigation into the concept of children’s literature, it’s origins, history and evolution, its main characteristics and the challenges it presents from the translation point of view, will be supported and framed within the apropriate theoretical framework. It is also the purpose of this work to analyse the cultural and linguistic aspects involved in the translation of children's literature. | pt_PT |
