Abstract(s)
O presente trabalho de âmbito profissional foi elaborado para ser submetido a provas
públicas com vista à obtenção do Título de Especialista em Línguas e Culturas (Línguas e
Literaturas Estrangeiras).
Nesse sentido, e de forma a permitir uma melhor contextualização do tema em análise
neste trabalho, procedeu-se a um enquadramento teórico que versou sobre os diferentes
modos e modalidades de interpretação, com especial enfoque nos desafios sentidos pelos
profissionais na sua prática.
Após o enquadramento teórico, foi feita uma análise de uma seleção de casos práticos
representativos da prática profissional do autor ao longo de mais de 15 anos de
experiência no mercado livre.
Os casos analisados visam ilustrar diferentes cenários de prestações de serviços de
interpretação, procedendo-se à identificação de constrangimentos sentidos, soluções
encontradas e técnicas utilizadas em cada um dos casos, bem como à sua sistematização.
Posteriormente, apresenta-se a atividade realizada pela Bolsa de Tradutores e
Intérpretes do ISCAP, a qual se enquadra no trabalho desenvolvido no âmbito do ensino de
Interpretação nesta instituição, e apontam-se as pontes com o mercado de trabalho.
Finalmente, é feita uma análise do contributo da experiência do autor enquanto intérprete
profissional para a sua prática docente.
This work has a professional scope and was prepared to be submitted to public assessment to obtain the Title of Specialist in Languages and Cultures (Foreign Languages and Literature). In this sense, and to allow for a better contextualization of the theme under analysis, a theoretical background was carried out focusing on the different modes and modalities of interpretation. In this context, particular emphasis was given to the different challenges experienced by professionals in the practice of interpretation. Following the theoretical framework, several case studies were analyzedto illustrate the professional practice of the author over more than 15 years of experience in the open market. The analyzed cases aim to show different scenarios of interpretation services, with a detailed description of the constraints experienced, the solutions found, and the techniques used in each case. A systematization of the processes involved was also elaborated. The activity carried out by ISCAP's Pool of Translators and Interpreters was also presented. Thisis part of the work, which is parallel and complementary to the teaching of interpreting at ISCAP and aims at creating bridges with the labor market. Finally, it is explained how the author's experience as a professional interpreter contributes to his teaching practice.
