Abstract(s)
coletivos, recolher e analisar a informação, construir conhecimento e conceber
participar.
This report describes the development of a socioeducational intervention project based on the methodology of participatory action research, with the purpose of promoting the participation of young people from the parish of Bonfim. The use of research techniques, such as the semi-structured interview, questionnaires, participant observation and documentary analysis, together with the intervenients and alongside individual and collective dialogical processes, allowed to collect and analyze information, produce knowledge and design a project with the sense of change and the consequent improvement of living conditions. The project’s design and development was oriented towards the promotion of the autonomy of Bonfim’s youth, through a process anchored in a cooperative, socially active group, increasingly empowered in decision making in both their schools and local associations. The methodological option imposes an effective participatory process, centered on the young people involved, in what comes to problem definition and the creation of alternatives that allow them to intervene in their contexts in a reflexive and critical way, thus contributing to the transformation of a society which tends to discriminate through age categorization. The personal development horizon established with these young people, in coherence with the emergency of active citizenships, is committed with the engagement in the definition of the senses for the development of their communities, and there is a positive expectation that this process can be sustained through the maintenance of their participation in the various contexts where they can learn to participate.
