Abstract(s)
The goal of this essay is to analyse the connection between the music of Arnold Schoenberg and Johannes Brahms, having as a basis the works performed on the final master’s piano recital. The focus of this analysis is on the compositional aspects whose origin is intimately connected with the German tradition and specifically Brahms, that Schoenberg then integrates into his creative process. Simultaneously, to also attribute an historical perspective to his idiomatic language.
