Abstract(s)
do Porto.
SharePoint.
Cost control is an essential pillar of project management, crucial to ensuring the economic viability of projects. It involves regularly monitoring of expenses, comparing them to the budget and making decisions that ensure the financial sustainability of the project. This dissertation presents the internship realized at FCC Construction on the Rubi Line of the Porto Metro. The line, with an extension of more than 6 km, which will connect Casa da Música to Santo Ovídio, includes eight stations and important structures, such as the Ferreirinha Bridge over the Douro. This line, with a construction budget of 379.5 million, is at the time of this report, the biggest public work project running in the country. The internship focused on cost control, using tools such as CCS Candy, Excel, and SharePoint. The tasks essentially included organizing data on subcontracts, materials and indirect costs, ensuring correct association with the budget, as well as improvements in internal monthly control processes. This experience provided a practical application of knowledge acquired throughout the bachelor’s degree and master's degree in Civil Engineering, in the area of cost control.
