Abstract(s)
The phenomenon of economic globalization is growing exponentially and has reached the four corners of the world, which has forced large companies and even SMEs from different countries to become the face of global competitiveness and the policies and practices of aggressive multinational, transnational and internationalized companies. Thus, the study of the internationalization process of companies is of great importance for developing countries, as is the case of Angola, from two perspectives: scientific, in that there is still insufficient research on the subject in the Angolan academic circle; business, in order to create a tool supports businesses to develop their strategies for international expansion. The aim of this thesis was to develop a study that would allow realizing the different strategies used by companies to expand internationally, the reasons or motivations of its internationalization and the advantages and/or disadvantages they may face in addressing foreign markets. So, was selected as the study object the largest Angolan state company Sonangol, which started its international foray for over 30 years and is in a very advanced stage of its internationalization process, with a presence in the African continent, European, American and Asian. The results of this study indicate that the company Sonangol contributed greatly to the international projection of Angola and its economy, stimulating FDI in Angola and the country's credibility in the face of major global financial institutions. The achievements can be useful both for investors and for the government and other institutions that may take actions that promote the presence of Angolan companies abroad.
