| dc.description.abstract | Segundo Kozma (2008), a Síndrome de Down consiste na presença de uma cópia extra no cromossoma 21, sendo que ao invés da normal duplicação do mesmo, ocorre uma triplicação. As caraterísticas ligadas a esta síndrome são várias, sendo que as suas feições são a mais conhecida. O facto de apresentarem uma estrutura facial mais pequena leva a que, por exemplo, as suas orelhas e estruturas auditivas sejam também mais pequenas, existindo assim uma maior possibilidade de ocorrerem problemas auditivos, o que está diretamente relacionado à percentagem elevada de casos de surdez nesta patologia (Kozma, 2008). A surdez é uma alteração no sistema auditivo e/ou nas vias auditivas que reduz ou impede o acesso aos estímulos sonoros (Nunes et al., 2015). Surge então o presente estudo que tem como objetivo estudar esta realidade da Síndrome de Down, em ambiente educativo. O estudo consiste na observação de uma aluna surda que apresenta Síndrome de Down, estudante numa Escola de Referência para a Educação e Ensino Bilingue do Norte do país, em que o objetivo primordial é explorar os seus padrões de participação/interação no seu contexto escolar e ainda identificar as estratégias de suporte à sua participação. Para a recolha dos dados, são utilizadas grelhas de observação e entrevistas efetuadas aos profissionais que acompanham o dia a dia da aluna na sua escola. Os resultados apresentados demonstram que a aluna deste estudo tem níveis de interação e inclusão escolar bastante positivos, uma vez que as adaptações adequadas estão a ser realizadas pelos profissionais que, diariamente, trabalham junto da aluna. | por |
| dc.description.abstract | According to Kozma (2008), Down Syndrome is the result of an extra copy in the 21th cromossome, causing a triplication of it, instead of the normal duplication. The characteristics of this syndrome are quite a few, the one that is more common is the facial features. The fact that they presente a face with smaller features leads to, for example, smaller ears and hearing structures, making the probability of hearing problems high, that being directly related with the number of cases of deafness in this pathology (Kozma, 2008). Deafness is an alteration in the auditory sistem or in the hearing canals that reduces or blocks the access of auditory stimuli (Nunes et al., 2015). Because the literature regarding this theme is very little, the presente study is created with the intention of studiyng this reality in an educational level. This study consists in the observation of a student with Down Syndrome, that studys in a Reference School in the north of Portugal, where the primary goal is to explore the patterns of participation/interaction in his educational contexto and identify the strategies that suport this participation. For the purpose of collecting data, it is used checlists of observation and interviews are made to the professionals that accompany the student in her school. The results are presented based on the objectives proposed in the beginning, where they will show how the students interaction occurs with different people and other students presente in her daily life. | eng |
