This report was written as part of the curricular unit of Supervised Teaching Practice, inserted in the Master of Teaching in Music Education in Basic Education of Escola Superior de Educação do Porto. Chapter I of this report provides a description and reflection on Music Education lessons observed in different schools. Chapter 11 presents my journey throughout the Supervised Teaching Practice carried out in a 5th grade class of the 2nd cycle of basic education at Escola Básica dos 2º e 3º Ciclos de Augusto Gil. lt covers the school and the class in which I did my internship, as well as ali the challenges I faced throughout it. Chapter III presents the study done throughout the school year, which addresses the use of the recorder in the teaching of Music Education in Portugal. This study seeks to understand why teachers use the recorder in the teaching of Music Education, as well as how it was inserted in the teaching of Music Education in Portugal. The study revealed that there are several characteristics that make the recorder the instrument of choice for interpretation in Music Education classes. lt reached the teaching of Music Education through the Orff courses held at the Gulbenkian Foundation in the 60's and spread throughout the country by the teacher Maria de Lourdes Martins.
