No presente trabalho, pretendeu-se determinar o contributo do turismo de
cruzeiros fluviais no desenvolvimento e valorização da região do Alto Douro vinhateiro, mais
concretamente na Região do Peso da Régua no que concerne ao desenvolvimento
socioeconómico tendo em conta os produtos turísticos comercializados, a oferta turística
adjacentes e os constantes planos de desenvolvimento pensados e realizados na região.
Pretende-se compreender a importância deste turismo no desenvolvimento territorial,
avaliando as potencialidades turísticas na região do Peso da Régua.
A questão de investigação orientou o estudo para uma metodologia qualitativa,
apoiada no método de estudo de casos de caráter descritivo. Na questão de investigação foi
identificado o estudos de caso único - O Concelho do Peso da Régua e as suas respetivas
unidades de análise identificadas.
As conclusões mostram que o turismo fluvial de cruzeiros se apresenta como uma
atividade em gradual expansão em Portugal, surgindo como um produto dinamizador de
cursos de água e de territórios adjacentes. Este tipo de turismo no rio Douro, tem vindo a
conquistar ao longo dos anos visibilidade e reconhecimento nacional e internacional que,
nas últimas décadas, levaram a enormes alterações e melhorias dos cursos de água. O
turismo de cruzeiros fluviais, apresenta-se como uma forte alternativa de desenvolvimento
da região, fazendo do Peso da Régua não só um meio de passagem, mas uma região que
permite ao turista realizar novas experiências, proporcionando a descoberta e contacto com
as mais diversas experiências culturais, patrimoniais, naturais, artísticas e enogastronómicas
que a região tem para oferecer.
In the present work, it was intended to determine the tourism contribution of the river cruises in the development and appreciation of the region of the Alto Douro Vineyard, more specifically in the region of Peso da Régua in relation to the socio-economic development Taking into account the tourist products marketed, the adjacent tourist offer and the constant development plans planned and carried out in the region. We intend to understand the importance of this tourism in territorial development, evaluating the tourist potential in the Peso da Régua region. The question of investigation guided the study for a qualitative methodology, supported by the method of case study of descriptive character. The question of investigation identified the single case studies-the municipality of Peso da Régua and its respective units of analysis identified. The conclusions show that river cruise tourism is presented as a gradual expansion activity in Portugal, emerging as a product that streamlines water courses and adjacent territories. This type of tourism in the Douro River, has been conquering over the years national and international visibility and recognition that, in recent decades, have led to enormous changes and improvements in water courses. River cruise tourism, presents itself as a strong alternative of development of the region, making the Peso da Régua not only a means of passage, but a region that allows tourists to perform new experiences, providing the discovery and contact with The most diverse cultural, patrimonial, natural, artistic and enogastronomical experiences that the region has to offer.
