Abstract(s)
diferentes usos e significados. Nesta dissertação a qualidade da educação foi
discutida a partir do trabalho pedagógico que é realizado cotidianamente no
dia-a-dia do professor.
As
The quality of education and / or education, as a historical concept, has undergone several changes in time and space, taking into account the conditions and evolutions of cultural, historical and social contexts, culminating in different uses and meanings. In this dissertation the quality of education was discussed from the pedagogical work that is carried out daily in the teacher's daily life. Thus, it is of fundamental importance the participation of the teacher, in the political process, in the decisions and actions, in different situations in the school environment, allowing the reflection before the problems arising from the pedagogical practice (Souza, 2009). The purpose of this dissertation was to investigate the relation between the quality of education and the number of students per class in the Municipal School of Education of Casimiro de Abreu, from the perspective of teachers. The teachers were invited to reflect on the didactic-pedagogical actions taking into account the impacts of the class size. On the effects of reducing the number of students per class, several studies present controversial results, and their analyzes’ focus on external tests or exams with multiple understandings (CNE, 2016). This research proposes a qualitative approach to the teaching / learning process that occurs in the classroom everyday, having the class size as the object of analysis. We used secondary data and also carried out fieldwork, with data collection and analysis, in the light of the presented theory. The methodology used is quantitative based, coupled with a qualitative approach in the interpretation of data, obtained by closed questionnaire applied to teachers of the first segment (1st to 5th grade) of elementary school in the municipality of Casimiro de Abreu / RJ - Brazil. The main conclusions point out that the quality of education is negatively related to the increase in the size of the classes, and the didactic-pedagogical actions of the teacher are significantly impaired by the increase in the number of students in the classroom.
