Abstract(s)
This dissertation was developed within the scope of the Curricular Unit Dissertation, referring to the 2nd year of the master’s degree in mechanical engineering, branch of Industrial Management at Instituto Superior de Engenharia do Porto. For the development of the present dissertation, an internship was carried out at the company ANDRITZ HYDRO, whose main activity involves project management for the installation of electromechanical equipment, as well as the manufacturing and installation of penstocks used in hydro powerplants. Thus, there was a main presence in the project management and installation departments. With an increasingly and dynamic market, where the main operators frequently enter new commercial sectors, leading to adapt, control and improve the business model and production, it becomes urgent to differentiate companies within their workflows, guaranteeing timely projects and cost saving to your customers. As mentioned, the main objective of the dissertation is related to the analysis of the production process, with the aim of obtaining it improvement and efficiency through the implementation of lean techniques and/or tools, with a view to reducing installation costs.
