Sinfonia de lá surge de uma incessante vontade em descobrir origens e compreender porque é que a minha avó, o meu pai e eu somos "retornados". Que palavra é essa? A resposta passa por conhecer pessoas, locais e acontecimentos do passado para melhor compreender as interrogações do presente. O testemunho de portugueses que viveram nas ex-colónias, a partilha das suas experiências, da sua vida e dos seus dissabores, foram a base para esta descoberta. Guerra colonial, violência física e psicológica, subjugação feminina, discriminação, racismo e, particularmente, desenraizamento. Estes são alguns aspectos que esta viagem nos leva a conhecer, a partir de histórias reais tornadas ficção e contadas em quadros, sempre que possível usando documentos e objetos de época.

The answer involves getting to know people, places and events from the past to better understand the questions of the present. The testimony of Portuguese people who lived in the former colonies, the sharing of their experiences, their lives and their hardships, were the basis for this discovery. Colonial warfare, physical and psychological violence, female subjugation, discrimination, racism and, particularly, uprooting. These are some aspects that this trip brings us to know, from real stories turned fiction and told in paintings, whenever possible using documents and objects from the period.
