Abstract(s)
O objetivo deste estudo é avaliar e otimizar a experiência de utilização do sistema de
informação universitário SIGARRA no contexto do Instituto de Ciências Biomédicas
Abel Salazar (ICBAS) da Universidade do Porto (U.Porto). A investigação centra-se na
importância da acessibilidade e da usabilidade dos sistemas de informação, componentes
vitais para a eficácia da gestão académica e para a satisfação dos utilizadores.
Para alcançar este objetivo, foi adotada a metodologia Design Science Research (DSR),
que permitiu o desenvolvimento de um conjunto de artefactos, tais como manuais de
apoio e vídeos explicativos. Estes foram desenvolvidos e implementados com o intuito
de melhorar a interação dos utilizadores com o SIGARRA, facilitando o acesso e a
compreensão das suas funcionalidades.
A revisão da literatura abrangeu um conjunto de temas como a gestão da informação,
sistemas de informação, acessibilidade e usabilidade e formação de utilizadores. Esta
revisão permitiu obter uma base teórica sólida para a investigação.
A análise dos dados recolhidos através de um questionário aplicado aos utilizadores
revelou desafios significativos na usabilidade do SIGARRA, indicando a necessidade de
uma formação contínua e de interfaces mais intuitivas.
Os resultados indicam que o conjunto de artefactos desenvolvidos conduzirá a uma
melhoria significativa da experiência do utilizador, aumentando a sua satisfação e
eficiência na utilização do sistema.
Em suma, este estudo evidencia a importância de uma abordagem centrada no utilizador
na gestão de sistemas de informação em instituições académicas e propõe melhorias que
promoverão uma experiência de utilização mais satisfatória e eficaz para toda a
comunidade académica do ICBAS.
The aim of this study is to evaluate and optimise the user experience of the SIGARRA university information system in the context of the Abel Salazar Institute of Biomedical Sciences (ICBAS) at the University of Porto (U.Porto). The research focuses on the importance of accessibility and usability of information systems, vital components for effective academic management and user satisfaction. To achieve this goal, the Design Science Research (DSR) methodology was adopted, which made it possible to develop a set of artefacts such as support manuals and explanatory videos. These were developed and implemented with the aim of improving user interaction with SIGARRA, making it easier to access and understand its functionalities. The literature review covered a range of topics, including information management, information systems, accessibility and usability and user training. This provides a solid theoretical basis for the research. Analysis of the data collected through a questionnaire administered to users revealed significant challenges in the usability of SIGARRA, indicating the need for ongoing training and more intuitive interfaces. The results indicate that the set of artefacts developed will lead to a significant improvement in the user experience, increasing satisfaction and efficiency when using the system. In short, this study highlights the importance of a user-centred approach to information systems management in academic institutions and proposes improvements that will promote a more satisfactory and effective user experience for the entire ICBAS academic community.
