Ao longo das últimas décadas, o turismo demostrou uma evolução exponencial
consequente do desenvolvimento mundial. O turismo atingiu a posição de maior
atividade económica do mundo no seculo XXI, assumindo-se corno um dos setores com
maior impacto financeiro e social. O setor hoteleiro apresentou também um grande
crescimento económico, com uma variedade de oferta a nível de unidades hoteleiras por
todo o mundo. Portugal seguiu a mesma linha nos últimos anos, destacando a cidade do
Porto, que superou expectativas quanto ao turismo e a sua hospitalidade oferecida aos
turistas.
O trabalho que se segue tem como objetivo principal o relatório das atividades
desenvolvidas no âmbito do estagio curricular no departamento de eventos de um hotel
de quatro estrelas, nomeado por Mercure Porto Centro, pertencente ao grupo Accor.
Através deste relatório, pretende-se perceber e dar a conhecer a dinâmica da gestão de
eventos em contexto hoteleiro e adquirir competências na área. Com a análise de todas
as tarefas associadas ao departamento, é elaborada uma proposta para um manual de
procedimentos para o departamento de eventos, com a descrição pormenorizada e
planeamento da execução de tarefas e processos padronizados, garantindo a
consistência da qualidade de serviço.
Over the past few decades, tourism has evolved exponentially because of world development. lt reached the position of greatest economic activity in the world in the 21st century, being one of the sectors with the greatest financial and social impact. The hotel sector has also shown considerable economic growth, with several options for hotels around the world. Portugal has followed the same pattern in recent years, highlighting the city of Porto, which has exceeded expectations in relation to tourism and the hospitality offered to tourists. This document intends to present the curricular internship developed in the events department of a four-star hotel, named by i\/lercure Porto Centro, which belongs to the Accor group. The current report supports the understanding of the dynamics of event management in a hotel context and the acquisition of skills in this area. Through the analysis of all the department’s tasks, a procedures manual for the events department is proposed, giving a planned and detailed description of standardized tasks and processes, ensuring the consistency of quality to the service provided.
