A importância do desenvolvimento sustentável e as preocupações com o planeta, essencialmente a nível
ambiental, são algumas das razões pelos quais, é necessário desenvolver mecanismos capazes de amenizar os impactos causados pelo setor da construção, já que esse é um dos responsáveis pelo impacto ambiental negativo no nosso planeta. Foi realizado um caso de estudo de uma residência unifamiliar, supondo a reabilitação do pavimento (piso/laje) dessa construção. Para isso foi elaborado um comparativo entre os métodos construtivos de concreto armado e madeira, com base nas variáveis de custo, energia e emissão de CO2, analisado qual o método estudado é mais sustentável para solução. Após a revisão bibliográfica, o levantamento dos dados e o comparativo, conclui-se que a construção em concreto armado é mais econômica em comparação com a estrutura de madeira, entretanto o método construtivo em madeira é mais eficiente em termos sustentáveis do que a estrutura de concreto armado.
