Caracterizar o perfil sociodemográfico e profissional dos Terapeutas da Fala em Portugal e analisar associações entre vínculo contratual, tempo de vínculo e nível de formação, e entre remuneração, número de locais de exercício, anos de prática e nível de formação. Estudo quantitativo, transversal e descritivo-correlacional, baseado num questionário online. A amostra inclui 436 Terapeutas da Fala em exercício em Portugal. A maioria é do sexo feminino (96,6%), com idades entre 30-39 anos (49,1%). Quase todos concluíram a formação em Portugal (98,6%) e 44,7% possuem pós-graduação/especialização. A concentração geográfica é maior no Porto (29,4%), Lisboa (14,7%) e Braga (13,5%). Cerca de 40,6% têm 11-20 anos de prática. Predominam instituições privadas (53,4%), com destaque para contrato sem termo (45,9%). A intervenção ocorre sobretudo com crianças de 0-6 anos, em linguagem (91,5%) e sons da fala (87,2). A maioria trabalha 36-50 horas semanais (64,0%), com remuneração entre 1001€-1999€. Verificam-se associações significativas entre o vínculo e tempo de vínculo, e entre a remuneração, nível de formação e anos de prática. Estes dados permitem uma melhor compreensão da realidade da profissão, podendo contribuir para o desenvolvimento de políticas públicas e estratégias institucionais que promovam uma maior valorização e consolidação da profissão
To characterize the sociodemographic and professional profile of Speech-Language Pathologists in Portugal and analyze associations between contract type, tenure length and educational attainment, and between remuneration, number of workplaces, years of practice and education level. Quantitative, cross-sectional and descriptive–correlational study, based on an online questionnaire. The sample included 436 Speech-Language Pathologists working in Portugal. The majority were female (96.6%) and Portuguese (98.4%), aged 30–39 (49.1%). Almost all completed their training in Portugal (98.6%), and 44.7% have postgraduate/specialization degrees. The geographic concentration is highest in Porto (29,4%), Lisboa (14,7%) and Braga (13,5%). Approximately 40.6% have 11–20 years of practice. Private institutions predominate (53.4%), with a predominance of permanent contracts (45.9%). Interventions primarily focus on children aged 0–6, focusing on language (91.5%) and speech sounds (87.2%). Most work 36–50 hours per week (64.0%), with remuneration ranging from €1,001 to €1,999. Significant associations were observed between contract type and tenure, and between remuneration, education level and years of experience. These data allow for a better understanding of the profession's reality and can contribute to the development of public policies and institutional strategies that promote greater appreciation and consolidation of the profession.
