O presente trabalho é resultado de um estágio desenvolvido no âmbito do
Mestrado em Comunicação Audiovisual, Especialização em Fotografia e Cinema
Documental, realizado sob a orientação científica da Professora Doutora Olívia
Maria Marques da Silva do Departamento de Artes da Imagem, da Escola Superior
de Media Artes e Design, do Instituto Politécnico do Porto e com orientação do
estágio pela fotógrafa Bénédite Kurzen. Configurando-se um relatório de estágio
que assume o papel central no âmbito do presente documento.
A função principal deste estágio consistiu no levantamento e digitalização
do arquivo da fotógrafa Bénédicte Kurzen. Ao longo do estágio foram testados
vários métodos até ser atingida a qualidade exigida, tais como um tripé e mesa
de luz e o Scanner1, em substituição da coluna de reprodução com iluminação a
45. Para além do trabalho proposto pela tutora de estágio, Bénédicte Kurzen, foi
também desenvolvido um trabalho autónomo, num registo autoral. Ambos foram
essenciais para alargar os meus conhecimentos teóricos e práticos sobre a
fotografia e o que esta envolve.
Para sustentar o trabalho executado ao longo do estágio, foram realizadas
várias visitas a instituições que me ajudaram a enquadrar neste mundo do
arquivo fotográfico. Destaco a visita ao Arquivo Municipal de Lisboa, onde foi
possível conhecer todas as salas de trabalho, como as salas de preservação do
arquivo, a zona de receção de provas de contacto e a sala de digitalização. Pude
também visitar a biblioteca e o espaço expositivo.
Depois de concluir todas as tarefas de digitalização, concentrei-me na
criação de provas de contacto, bem como no projeto autónomo, referido acima.
The present work is the result of an internship developed during the Master of Audiovisual Communication Specialized in Photography and Documental Cinema, accomplished under the scientific supervision of Professor Olívia Maria Marques da Silva of the Department of Image Arts, of Escola Superior de Media Artes e Design, Instituto Politécnico do Porto and with the supervision of the internship by the photographer Bénédicte Kurzen. Setting up an internship report that assumes the central role within the scope of this document. The main function of this internship consisted of surveying and digitizing the archive of photographer Bénédicte Kurzen. During the internship, several methods were tested until the required quality was reached, such as a tripod and light table and the Scanner2, replacing the reproduction column with 45º lighting. In addition to the work proposed by the internship tutor, Bénédicte Kurzen, an autonomous work was also developed, in an authorial register. Both were essential to broaden my theoretical and practical knowledge about photography and what it involves. To support the work carried out during the internship, several visits were made to establishments that helped me to fit into this world of the photographic archive. I would like to highlight the visit to the Municipal Archives of Lisbon, for the opportunity and kindness with which they received me, so that I was paid a visit to all the work and preservation rooms, as well as an explanation of everything that was seen. After completing all the digitization tasks, I focused on creating contact proofs as well as the standalone project mentioned above.
