| dc.description.abstract | O estudo sobre a influência dos aeroportos no turismo é particularmente relevante no contexto atual, especialmente em regiões como o Porto e Norte de Portugal que dependem do Aeroporto Francisco Sá Carneiro como um ponto crucial de entrada de turistas. Especificamente, pretende-se analisar o fluxo de passageiros que chegam ao Porto e Norte de Portugal através do aeroporto, identificar o perfil dos turistas, analisar os efeitos económicos e sociais do aeroporto na região, analisar o papel do aeroporto na conectividade e acessibilidade da região para o turismo, bem como a forma como o aeroporto, com a sua operação de handling eficiente, garante a conectividade e acessibilidade da região. A pesquisa sublinha o papel estratégico do aeroporto no crescimento do turismo e no desenvolvimento das regiões, destacando o impacto do handling na experiência global do passageiro e no sucesso do destino. É esperado que este estudo revele que o Aeroporto do Porto tem um papel fundamental no aumento do turismo na região Norte de Portugal e que o aumento de rotas e acessibilidade proporcionada pelo aeroporto coloca em debate a importância do handling na operação global. Espera-se identificar algumas características dos mercados emissores, enfatizando o papel estratégico do aeroporto na promoção do destino e desenvolvimento integrado das regiões. Por fim, espera-se que os resultados deste trabalho sirvam de base para reflexões futuras sobre o transporte aéreo e turismo, evidenciando que os aeroportos não são apenas infraestruturas logísticas, mas promotores estratégicos no desenvolvimento territorial. | dc.description.abstract | The study on the influence of airports on tourism is particularly relevant in the current context, especially in regions such as Porto and Northern Portugal, which depend on Francisco Sá Carneiro Airport as a crucial point of entry for tourists. Specifically, the aim is to analyze the flow of passengers arriving in Porto and Northern Portugal via the airport, identify the profile of tourists, analyze the economic and social effects of the airport on the region, analyze the role of the airport in the connectivity and accessibility of the region for tourism, and how the airport, with its efficient handling operation, ensures the connectivity and accessibility of the region. The research highlights the strategic role of the airport in the growth of tourism and the development of the regions, emphasizing the impact of handling on the overall passenger experience and the success of the destination. This study is expected to reveal that Porto Airport plays a key role in increasing tourism in the northern region of Portugal and that the increase in routes and accessibility provided by the airport brings into question the importance of handling in overall operations. It is hoped that some characteristics of the source markets will be identified, emphasizing the strategic role of the airport in promoting the destination and the integrated development of the regions. Finally, it is hoped that the results of this study will serve as a basis for future reflections on air transport and tourism, highlighting that airports are not only logistical infrastructures but also strategic promoters of territorial development. The case of Francisco Sá Carneiro Airport demonstrates that investing in operational quality, sustainability, and innovation is essential to ensure balanced, competitive, and sustainable tourism growth in northern Portugal. | por |
