A responsabilidade social está bastante difundida no mundo dos negócios, as empresas têm adotado práticas para dirimirem questionamentos éticos quanto a sua conduta e é grande o número de empresas que vêm investindo na área. Com o avanço da tecnologia e o mundo cada vez mais globalizado aumentou consideravelmente a competitividade. Nesse contexto, as empresas buscam formas de se diferenciarem, para serem competitivas e ao mesmo tempo se legitimarem perante a Sociedade. Para as Instituições de Ensino Superior a realidade não se diferencia, a ética e a responsabilidade social constituem, igualmente, uma relevante ferramenta de gestão. O texto aqui trabalhado mostrará, esta realidade no Instituto Federal de Educação, Ciência e Tecnologia de Mato Grosso – IFMT, ao ter como escopo perceber até que ponto a Responsabilidade Social é realizada com cariz predominante ético ou economicista. Este contexto direcionou-nos para um Estudo de Caso, utilizando uma metodologia mista quantitativa na recolha de dados questionários e análise de documental. Desta forma o presente estudo evidenciou a importância da realização de ações de responsabilidade social, mostrando até que ponto o IFMT está comprometido com a ética e a responsabilidade social.
Social responsibility is widespread in the business world, companies have adopted practices to address ethical questions about their conduct and there is a great number of companies that have been investing in the area. With the advancement of technology and the increasingly globalized world, competitiveness has increased considerably. In this context, companies seek ways to differentiate themselves, to be competitive and at the same time to legitimize themselves before the Society. For higher education institutions reality is not different, ethics and social responsibility are also a relevant management tool. The text presented here will show this reality in the Federal Institute of Education, Science and Technology of Mato Grosso - IFMT, when aiming to realize the extent to which Social Responsibility is carried out with a predominant ethical or economistic aspect. This context directed us to a case study, using a quantitative mixed methodology in the collection of questionnaires data and documentary analysis. In this way the present study showed the importance of carrying out social responsibility actions, showing the extent to which the IFMT is committed to ethics and social responsibility.
