Abstract(s)
A evolução do turismo deverá enquadrar-se em políticas que visem um modelo de
desenvolvimento para os destinos, com base na monitorização de indicadores
económicos, políticos e sociais.
Nesta perspetiva, os destinos emergentes, localizados em territórios de baixa
densidade, deverão ser alvo de uma gestão estratégica criteriosa, tendo em
consideração as características da região.
Neste sentido orientador, será proposta a criação de um sistema de monitorização para
Arouca, território classificado como Território de Baixa Densidade (TBD) e com
caraterísticas especificas.
A monitorização passará pelo planeamento e gestão de uma base de dados, ao serviço
de todos os stakeholders, por forma a garantir que os fluxos turísticos gerados neste
meio, se processem de forma menos acentuada, permitindo visualizar as oportunidades
e ameaças, tendo por base as parcerias, entre a população, setor público e privado,
ajustado a um conjunto de indicadores do ponto de vista social, cultural, económico e
ambiental.
Este estudo, engloba ainda a perceção dos residentes do concelho de Arouca, dos
principais intervenientes do destino como a Associação de Geoparque de Arouca e
Câmara Municipal, assim como o levantamento efetuado a partir de inquéritos.
The evolution of tourism must be framed into policies that aim a development model perspective for the destinations, based into the analysis of economic, political, and social indicators. According to this summary, emerging destinations, located in territories with low population density, should be target of a careful strategy policy, considering the characteristics of the region. Considering this point of view, this research proposes the creation of a tourism monitoring system for Arouca, a territory classified as Low-Density Territory, with specific characteristics. The monitoring will involve the planning and management of database, at the disposal of all stakeholders, ensuring that the tourism flows in analysis don’t get overwhelmed, allowing the discussion of opportunities and threats for the territory, based on the partnership between the population, public and private sector, adjusted to the social, cultural, economic and environment perception. Will be also considered the perspective of the local community from Arouca’s region, the main actor from the territory such as Geopark Association of Arouca and the City Council, according to the surveys used as data basis of this study.
