Este projeto visa perceber o papel da montagem na tentativa de representar a realidade (e a verdade) de acontecimentos não ficcionados. O ponto de vista dado pela câmara não é intocável no que à representação do real diz respeito, muito pelo contrário. A câmara, através do enquadramento, fragmenta a realidade. O olho humano não. Cabe então à montagem, tendo em conta as premissas do autor (que foi testemunha dos acontecimentos tal qual se passaram), contar uma mentira com vista a atingir a verdade. De forma a perceber este fenómeno irei realizar um documentário intitulado “Pirotecnia” e, em simultâneo, será também elaborado um ensaio que servirá de sustentação teórica ao projeto.
This project aims to understand the role of the editing process in an attempt to represent reality (and truth) of non-fictional events. The camera’s point of view is not untouchable in the representation of reality. The camera, through frame, fragments the reality. The human eye also does it. It is then up to the editing to manage the assumptions of the author (who was a witness of such events), and to tell a lie in order to reach the truth. In order to understand this phenomenon I will direct a documentary titled "Pirotecnia" and, simultaneously, I’ll write an essay that will provide theoretical support to the project.
