Abstract(s)
Na última década foi observado nas indústrias a tendência de redução do tempo
de setup das diversas mĆ”quinas presentes nas mesmas. A empresa Ricardo & Barbosa ā
empresa onde se fabricam ferramentas e moldes para peças do setor automóvel,
energĆ©tico, eletrónico e ainda, maisrecentemente, aeroespacial ā foi uma das empresas
impactadas por esta tendência. Porém, existiam algumas mÔquinas em que esta
redução de tempo de setup ainda não tinha sido pensada. Neste caso de estudo foi
implementado um método associado à filosofia Lean: Single Minute Exchange of Die
(SMED). O SMED foi aplicado ao serrote para corte de matƩrias-primas presente no
armazém da empresa. A implementação desta metodologia culminou numa redução
aproximada de tempo de setup da mƔquina em cerca de 43%.
A metodologia usada na recolha de dados foi a metodologia investigação-ação,
que serĆ” posteriormente explicada.
De modo a relacionar a implementação do SMED na empresa com o aumento da
sustentabilidade da mesma, foram estudados os diversos impactos nos 3 pilares da
sustentabilidade: económica, social e ambiental, sendo esses impactos calculados para
antes e após a implementação da metodologia SMED.
Os resultados que foram obtidos permitem concluir que a metodologia impactou
positivamente e negativamente esses 3 indicadores de sustentabilidade na secção em
questão, tudo isto devido à redução de tempo de setup
In the last decade, industry businesses have shown a tendency for reducing their machineās setup time. The company Ricardo & Barbosa LDA. ā company that is specialized in making specific molds and tools for the automotive sector, as well as energetic, electronic or, more recently, aerospace ā was one of the businesses that was impacted by this tendency. However, there were some machines where this reduction of setup time wasnāt implemented yet. In this case study, one method of the lean philosophy was implemented: the method Single Minute of Exchange of Die (SMED). SMED was implemented into the semiautomatic bandsaw machine placed in the companyās warehouse that is used to cut raw materials. The implementation of this methodology has made approximately 43% in reduction of setup time. To connect the implementation of SMED with sustainability, there were studied all of the impacts in the 3 main sustainabilityās indicators: economic sustainability, social sustainability and environmentalsustainability, being thisimpacts calculated before and after the implementation of this methodology. The obtained results make us conclude that in this machine this methodology has impacted both positively and negatively those 3 indicators of sustainability, all of that due to the decrease of setup time
