Abstract(s)
Singing mantras that activate the 7 chakras in a regular basis is more than just to relax from our daily routines. It seems that the singing voice used in mantras is a natural device of human balance. This practice allow us to access to what is most primitive and spiritual in us, by other words, our most intimate self, our fundamental state: energy. This means that the body regains its innate automatism as the mind progressively learns to quiet. The singing voice that balances the body, the speaking voice and the artistic singing voice, all together form the Absolute Voice, the Total Potential of the Human Voice. Singing mantras has positive influence not only in the well-being but also in the production of the singing voice required in the artistic singing. The more I practiced the more I felt the voice connected to the body and, as a consequence, more free and powerful emotionally. Also, the chakra system revealed useful in a preliminary approach of a text/score in interpretative terms: the text has subliminal intentions which denote certain emotions, and if we associate the emotion to the respective chakra we can support the voice starting directly from the body without excess of mind interference. This research resulted in the creation of the String of Voice Technique, quite easy to execute, based in the presumption that the production of the voice has two main vectors with intimate relation with the Heart Chakra. Together, the use of the conscience of the body regained by the chakra system and the String of Voice Technique, demonstrated to be very useful in the preparation and execution regarding different kinds of singing performances.
