Abstract(s)
World Health Organization Quality of Life Instruments – Bref.
This dissertation aims to assess the quality of life of IPSS workers. Professionals in this field are exposed to very demanding organisational environments, which can trigger burnout syndrome. This study aims to assess the quality of life of these workers. This document is structured in a first chapter with a presentation and theoretical foundation of the concepts of burnout, engagement and quality of life, the legislative framework and the relevance of the IPSS in our country, highlighting the importance, value and impact that strategic human resources management has on promoting the quality of life of workers in organisations. In order to be able to portray and verify what the literature tells us about these concepts, a data collection questionnaire was drawn up, structured into four parts, the first for collecting sociodemographic data and the rest for applying scales to measure the three concepts, using scientifically validated scales for the purpose of what is intended to be measured. The methodology used was a quantitative analysis, with data processed using the Statistical Package for Social Sciences version 26, using four instruments: a sociodemographic questionnaire and the Maslach Burnout Inventory Test - Human Services Survey; the Utrecht Work Engagement Scale and the World Health Organization Quality of Life Instruments - Bref. Our sample consisted of a total of 132 individuals and the results showed that one in three had burnout, with a prevalence in females and in the exhaustion dimension; although they described their quality of life as "good", the levels of engagement were higher in professionals in managerial positions.
