This approach focuses on the juvenil novel Campos de Lágrimas (2000) by José Jorge Letria, one of the most recognised and prolific authors in Portuguese Literature and potentialli suited for young readers. In this fictional account of unmistakeable historical inspiration, José Jorge Letria recreates an event of the collective memory, the European in this case, which is the Nazi Holocaust (and also implicitly the Spanish Civil War), describing the journey of a Portuguese family to the city of Weimar and the concentration camp of Buchenwald.
