Abstract(s)
In today's day and age, there is a fast paced evolution of the labor market coupled with an increasingly bigger influence of technology in the day to day operations of organizations. That being said, this new reality also brought human resource managers new worries, challenges and the need to quickly adapt to the circumstances. The main objective of this investigation consists in the identification and characterization of the skills that human resource managers find more relevant, given the digital age paradigm, specifically in the IT sector. This investigation was made with a qualitative methodology, making use of semi-structured interviews to gather information. Nine interviews were conducted with human resources professionals from IT companies. These had the goal to gather data on the perception that the interviewee had on the challenges and on the impact that was being felt due to the Digital transformation, along with the shift in the perception of what are the most valued skills by the employers of the sector. The results suggest that the studied organizations consider themselves well prepared to face this new reality of digital transformation. On the other hand, it was also possible to get a clearer picture on what are the skills that human resource managers consider more valuable to upcoming times, along with their expected improvement on the general performance of the company in witch the worker is inserted in. Last but not least, theres a chapter for the discussion of the main results of the study, as well as the limitations and contributions to the dissertation, and even the introduction to a few topics suggested for a possible future research.
