Abstract(s)
The present dissertation is entitled "Affirmative Actions and School Dropout: Intermulticulturalism as a Pedagogical Proposal in a Federal Institution of Brazilian Education" and consists of a case study carried out at the Federal Institute of Rondônia - Vilhena campus, through fundamentally a research of nature bibliographic and documentary. The main objective of this study was to investigate possible causes that led to school dropout in this educational institution, specifically for students belonging to affirmative actions/racial and social quotas in the AF/PPI-Affirmative Actions category of Blacks, Browns and Indigenous Peoples. The concept of affirmative action is included in Brazilian public policies that aim to benefit individuals belonging to economically and culturally marginalized social groups, whereby those formally called blacks, browns and indigenous people (law 12,711/2012) are considered a single racial quota category and social AF/PPI. As a servant of the institution under study, I noticed that these students joined by quotas, but many evaded. The documentary research carried out with students in the AF/PPI category of the IFRO Campus de Vilhena enrolled in the year 2016 in technical courses, revealed the high rates of dropouts and the main reasons that led them to drop out. It is also sought, in this study, to propose actions to reduce this dropout, such as the implementation of a training course for teachers with a focus on intermulticulturality, capable of promoting a heterogeneous view that enables the interrelations necessary for school success.
