O presente relatório foi elaborado no âmbito do estágio curricular realizado no departamento financeiro do Hotel Infante Sagres, unidade de cinco estrelas localizada na cidade do Porto, no contexto da conclusão do Mestrado em Gestão Hoteleira.
O documento reflete não só as atividades desempenhadas ao longo dos seis meses de estágio, como também uma análise crítica das práticas de gestão financeira adotadas pela unidade. São descritas as tarefas desenvolvidas nas áreas de income auditing, reconciliação de cartões, controlo interno e apoio contabilístico, bem como as ferramentas e sistemas informáticos utilizados. Paralelamente,o relatório inclui uma proposta de melhoria centrada na implementação do sistema DocMX, com vista a digitalização documental e otimização de fluxos de trabalho.
Como resultado, este percurso de estágio permitiu aprofundar conhecimentos técnicos e operacionais, enquanto potenciou o desenvolvimento de competências transversais, como o pensamento crítico, a capacidade de adaptação, a organização e a comunicação interdepartamental — fundamentais para um desempenho eficaz no setor da hotelaria de excelência.
This report was developed within the scope of the curricular internship carried out in the financial department of Hotel Infante Sagres, a five-star property located in the city of Porto, as part of the completion of the Master's degree in Hospitality Management. The document reflects not only the activities performed over the six-month internship period but also & critical analysis of the financial management practices adopted by the hotel. lt describes the tasks carried out in areas such as income auditing, credit card reconciliation, internal control, and accounting support, as well as the tools and software systems used. Additionally, the report includes a management improvement proposal focusing on the implementation of the DocMX system, aiming to digitize documentation and optimize workflow processes. As a result, this internship experience enabled the development of both technical and operational knowledge, while also strengthening transversal skills such as critical thinking, adaptability, organizational capacity, and interdepartmental communication — all of which are essential for effective performance in the high-end hospitality sector.
