Abstract(s)
This report was prepared within the scope of the Supervised Teaching Practice curricular unit of the Master´s in Music Education, Lyrical Singing. After a General Introduction follows a first chapter with the theoretical support for the Research Project. The second chapter presents a reflection based on the educational practice developed, based on the experience acquired during the observed and taught classes, and also presents the institution that accepted to be the host of the supervised teaching practice - Academia de Música Fernandes Fão. Finally, the third chapter presents the Research Project developed during the current academic year, with the theme “Study on the benefits of the Introduction of the Phonetics discipline in the Basic Music Education curriculum, Lyrical Singing”. This project was developed based on a research carried out through a semi-structured interview with a group of Canto professors of recognized national merit, and an experimental investigation: Case Study. The investigation focused on students from the Academia de Música Fernandes Fão, who never had contact with the discipline of phonetics during Basic Music Education, Lyrical Singing. It is intended, therefore, to substantiate the ideas defended through an analysis of the set of responses to the interviews conducted with the referred Singing teachers and, also, from the conclusions of the results obtained through the Case Study. The results obtained show that the study of phonetics will not be successful if it is sporadic, and that the introduction and regularity of this discipline within the scope of Basic Music Teaching, in the Lyrical Singing aspect, is crucial for an improvement in technical development, understanding and musical interpretation of the young students.
