Abstract(s)
posicionamento e movimento dos atores, numa interação entre eles próprios e o cenário;
concretamente o terror.
One of the main responsibilities of a film director is to manage and relate the acting in relation to the camera that films them, igniting an interdependence that fits the intended style. Blocking being the process of positioning and moving the actors, in an interaction between themselves and the set; and Staging being the process of positioning and moving the camera, it's in the way that both articulate each other that we reach the intended results to the filmic narrative. Thus, the present essay aims to justify the Blocking and Staging options on the short-film “A Floresta” (2022), a film produced within the scope of the Masters in Audio-visual Communication, on the Specialization in Audio-Visual Production and Directing, from ESMAD, relating the position and movement of the actors with the position and movement of the camera, considering the narrative and dramatic purpose of said film, as well as the cinematic genre conventions that characterises it, concretely, horror.
