Abstract(s)
todas as partes interessadas.
Segurança e Saúde no Trabalho.
Occupational Health and Safety is an integrated endeavour whose success depends on the collaboration of all stakeholders. The effective elimination and mitigation of risks in workplaces depends on the convergence of the perceptions of those involved in the process, and it is essential to understand how organisations can improve their safety practices and investments in improving working conditions. The main objective of this study was to develop a conceptual model linking investments in Occupational Safety and Health to the benefits achieved, based on a systematic review of the literature. In this way, 69 articles were analysed and a bibliometric analysis carried out using Rpackage Bibliometrix, using the Web of Science database. The most recurrent keywords were ‘management’ and ‘performance’, which demonstrates the interaction and full integration of Occupational Health and Safety. The analyses carried out resulted in a conceptual model that emphasises the factors considered relevant to creating safe and healthy working environments in organisations. This model also emphasises the importance of an integrated and multidisciplinary approach to investments in Occupational Safety and Health. This study shows that organisations that adopt a culture of ownership and invest in training and technology tend to achieve better results in terms of safety. It also underlines the need for change in organisations, promoting a proactive approach to safety. Investments in training, audits and continuous improvements are essential to reducing the number of accidents at work, occupational illnesses and creating a safer and healthier working environment. Adopting a solid safety culture not only protects workers, but also contributes to the efficiency and sustainability of organisations.
