Abstract(s)
The internationalization process of a company is a complex process, which involves risks, procedures, and challenges. In the context of a family company, with its own particularities resulting from lack of resources, financial and human, lack of goals and strategic objective, conflicts between successors and the reluctance of leaders to implement changes, the company's growth and internationalization process can become even more difficult and challenging. The fundamental objective of this paper is to analyze and study, the possibility of defining the internationalization process of a Brazilian micro family business and thus, contribute to the understanding of the problems faced by Brazilian family companies that wish to start an internationalization process. In this research, we opted to follow a qualitative methodology, using the case study method by combining three different techniques: the realization and a structured interview to collect primary data; collection and analysis of secondary data (from various sources) and participant observation. The triangulation of these different sources of information, associated with the rigor and validity of the literature used, made it possible to draw some conclusions about the company's management model and contribute to the solutions of an action plan. From the in-depth analysis of the case, it was possible to conclude that the company needs to improve its organizational structure in terms of management. For this, the owners must pay attention to factors such as planning, organization and control. It was possible to realize that the company has great potential, competitive advantages, however, there is no economic or structural power to support this change and its expansion in the market.
