Vila do Conde, município localizado no litoral norte de Portugal, carateriza-se pela sua diversidade, uma vez que possui mar, rio, natureza e património. A cidade de José
Régio é conhecida nacionalmente pela sua doçaria conventual, e internacionalmente, pela sua renda de bilro (recorde do Guiness).
O turismo tem crescido substancialmente na cidade nos últimos anos, fruto da inserção de Vila do Conde na rota dos Caminhos de Santiago, da proximidade com a cidade do Porto e com o aeroporto internacional Francisco Sá Carneiro, e ainda, com o aparecimento de novos restaurantes (como por exemplo, o Le Villageois Restaurante) e unidades de alojamento (ex.: Pousada da Juventude de Vila do Conde).
Prevê-se que este crescimento continue no futuro, e que a abertura de uma unidade hoteleira de 5 estrelas (prevista para o final de 2023) implantada no ex-libris da cidade, o
Mosteiro de Santa Clara, venha a atrair novos segmentos de turistas, e a contribuir para a consolidação do concelho como destino turístico.
O estágio em análise, que incluiu entre outras tarefas, a criação de um roteiro para a promoção e divulgação dos principais atrativos turísticos de Vila do Conde, revelou-se assim, de extrema importância, já que permitiu a aquisição de importantes competências.
Vila do Conde, a small coastal city situated on the northern west coast of Portugal, is characterised by its beautiful diverse landscape, as it has sea, river, natural mountains and forests and historical heritage. The city of the famous Portuguese writer José Régio, is known nationally for its conventional sweet pastry, and internationally for its famous bobbin lace (holds the Guinness record). In recent years, tourism has grown substantially in the city, as a result of the inclusion of Vila do Conde on the route of “The Ways of Saint James”, the proximity to the city of Porto and the international airport Francisco Sá Carneiro. This added to the increased number of new restaurants (e.g.: Le Villageois Restaurant), and accommodations (e.g.: Youth Hostel of Vila do Conde). It is expected that this growth will continue in the future, and that the opening of a 5-star hotel (scheduled for the end of 2023) located in the city's ex-libris, the Santa Clara Monastery, with an outstanding view to the river Ave and the coast, will attract new segments of tourists, but also contribute to the consolidation of the county as a tourist destination. The internship under analysis, which included, among other tasks, the creation of a roadmap for the promotion and dissemination of the main tourist attractions of Vila do Conde, proved to be extremely important.
