Abstract(s)
fatores psicológicos: Autoconfiança; Risco; Internacionalização; Recursos e Criatividade;
Empreendedorismo; Capacidade técnica de gestão e empreendedorismo; Inovação/Informação;
Liderança e Gestão Internacional.
The entrepreneurship process takes place because a group of individuals (or just an individual) makes a decision and act on it. The study of entrepreneurship has been seen as one of the new paradigms of social and economic sciences, and therefore it should be fostered through various forms and mechanisms, especially regarding its education. The whole process of identifying opportunities is an intentional process and therefore the academia should focus on the study of entrepreneurial intentions. This research aims to explore the international orientation of entrepreneurial intentions of higher education students and its determinants. Data was collected in the School of Technology and Management of Felgueiras (ESTGF) part of the Polytechnic of Porto (IPP), containing a sample of 209 students from different scientific areas. The results show a low level of internationally oriented entrepreneurial intentions of students. Our results suggest that there is a number of factors influencing entrepreneurial intention such as their field of study and the existence of family entrepreneurs. Our factorial analyses results in 9 factors, explaining the entrepreneurial intention of ESTGF students, with regards to their entrepreneurial characteristics: self-confidence; risk; internationalization; resources and creativity; entrepreneurship; technical capacity management and entrepreneurship; innovation / information; leadership and international management.
