Abstract(s)
A pesquisa a que este trabalho se refere foi desenvolvida no âmbito da
Especialização em Educação e Formação de Adultos do Mestrado em Estudos
Profissionais Especializados em Educação da Escola Superior de Educação do
Politécnico do Porto. A pesquisa em causa procedeu à construção de uma
análise sobre as implicações educacionais e sociais das ações de educação não
formal e dinamização comunitária das bibliotecas do Instituto Federal de
Educação Ciência e Tecnologia Farroupilha. As bibliotecas promotoras das
ações de extensão pesquisadas são as dos campi de Santo Augusto e São Borja.
Através da recolha das perspectivas dos participantes, procedeu-se à
elaboração de uma leitura analítica destas iniciativas, para chegar à
compreensão das implicações das mesmas, nos planos educacional e social, tal
como perspectivadas pelos próprios e, eventualmente, também pelos
dinamizadores e colaboradores das iniciativas. A consideração destas
perspectivas permite reconstituir uma visão mais completa do significado social
das iniciativas e propõe, nesse seguimento, uma reflexão sobre a relevância do
desenvolvimento de projetos culturais de incentivo à leitura, visando auxiliar as
escolas da comunidade a formar leitores e a criar novos laços entre as
bibliotecas e as comunidades. A tónica é colocada no papel que podem ter as
bibliotecas extensionistas para a sociedade e na sua contribuição para o
desenvolvimento educativo e social
This work refers to a research developed within the scope of the Specialization in Adult Education of the Master in Professional Studies Specialized in Education of the Higher School of Education of the Polytechnic Institute of Porto. The research focused on the educational and social implications of the actions of non-formal education and community dynamization of the libraries of the Federal Institute of Education, Science and Technology of Farroupilha, Brazil. The libraries that promoted the extension actions that were studied are those of the Santo Augusto and São Borja campuses. Through the study of participants’ perspectives on these actions, a critical appraisal of their structure, contents and results was put forward, wiling to ensure an understanding over their educational and social implications. By considering the perspectives of participants, and of promoters and collaborators, the research was able to elaborate a more comprehensive view on the social significance of these kind of initiatives, this way contributing to widen the reflection on the relevance of projects aiming to promote reading habits, and to underline the importance of the relation between libraries, schools and communities, especially by highlighting the role university extension actions made through university libraries can have in the educative and social development of peoples and communities
