Abstract(s)
O Instituto Superior de Contabilidade e Administração do Porto (ISCAP) passou por
várias mudanças, influenciadas por diversos contextos sociais, políticos e económicos,
que se refletiram na sua estrutura orgânico-funcional, desde a sua origem, em 1886, até
ao Instituto que hoje conhecemos. Dado que as organizações produzem informação no
exercício das suas atividades, nos fluxos de informação entre departamentos, no
arquivamento e prova que a informação constitui, a gestão integrada e a estruturação
sistémica da informação impõem a necessidade de levar a cabo um estudo orgânico e
funcional da entidade produtora, etapa indispensável à fundamentação do conhecimento
do sistema de informação Arquivo. Assim, realizou-se um estudo da estrutura orgânicofuncional
do ISCAP, desde a sua integração no Instituto Politécnico do Porto, em março
de 1988, até à atualidade, para o qual foi realizado um breve enquadramento histórico e
o levantamento da sua orgânica no sentido de confirmar se a produção documental no
ISCAP é organizada segundo critérios arquivísticos, através da análise da produção,
conservação e eliminação da informação pela instituição, com foco nos seus Órgãos de
Gestão e nos seus Serviços. Recorreu-se ao método quadripolar, no âmbito da Ciência da
Informação, assente em quatro polos: o polo epistemológico, que constitui o paradigma
científico, instância superior imbricada no aparato teórico e institucional, origem do
conhecimento científico e informacional; o polo teórico, onde estarão incluídos a
hipótese, os objetivos do estudo, revisão da literatura, documentos ativos, regulamentos,
estatutos e organogramas; o polo técnico, que abrange todos os procedimentos técnicos a
realizar para o estudo: pesquisa documental, técnicas de recolha dos dados, guião da
entrevista, elaboração do questionário, pesquisa de documentos e o polo morfológico,
onde se incluem a análise do conteúdo dos documentos textuais, o tratamento quantitativo
e qualitativo dos dados da entrevista e questionários, conclusões e propostas de melhorias,
tais como a centralização da informação no Arquivo e sob a sua responsabilidade, a
elaboração de um plano de classificação da informação e a designação do Arquivo como
serviço autónomo, visando a normalização das práticas de gestão dos documentos de
arquivo numa perspetiva de qualidade e à definição de responsabilidades na instituição
relativamente à informação.
The Instituto Superior de Contabilidade e Administração do Porto (ISCAP) went through various changes, influenced by social, political and economic contexts, which were reflected in its organic-functional structure, from its origins in 1886 to the institute we know today. Since organisations produce information in the course of their activities, information flows, archiving and proof that information constitutes, information integrated management and its systemic structuring impose the need to conduct an organic and functional study of the producing entity, an indispensable stage in the knowledge of the Archive information system. The intention was to do a study of the organic-functional structure of ISCAP, from its integration in the Polytechnic Institute of Porto, in March 1988, to the present day, where a brief historical context and the gathering of its organic-functional structure were carried out to confirm if the documentary production at ISCAP is organised according to archival criteria, through the analysis of the production, conservation and destruction of information by the institution, focusing on its Management Boards and its Services. The quadripolar method was used within the Information Science, based on four poles: the epistemological pole, which constitutes the scientific paradigm, a higher instance imbricated in the theoretical and institutional apparatus, origin of scientific and informational knowledge; the theoretical pole, where the hypothesis, the objectives of the study, literature review, active documents, regulations, statutes and organisation charts will be included; the technical pole, which covers all the technical procedures to be carried out for the study, document research, data collection techniques, interview script, questionnaire preparation, document research and the morphological pole, which includes the textual documents’ content analysis, the quantitative and qualitative treatment of the interview data and questionnaires, conclusions and proposals for improvements, such as the information centralization in the Archive and under its responsibility, the elaboration of an information classification plan and the designation of the Archive as an autonomous service, aiming at the standardization of the archive documents' management practices from a quality perspective and the definition of responsibilities in the institution regarding information.
