Abstract(s)

This lnternship Report,entitled Understanding to know how to be/read better: inferential comprehension and criticai comprehension at the service of interpreting values conveyed in literary works, carried out as part of the Supervised Teaching Practice Curriculum Unit (PES), integrated into the Master's Degree in Teaching 1st Cycle Basic Education and Portuguese and History and Geography of Portugal in the 2nd Cycle of Basic Education, presents the master's student's entire training path throughout the PES, based on theoretical knowledge and accompanied by reflections carried out by the teacher in training. Firstly, this document includes a curricular and legal framework on teaching professionalism,secondly,a description of the educational context and,thirdly,a reflection on the work carried out in the PES. The fourth section presents the investigative component, one of the dimensions of the SEP, which was developed in the 5th grade class of the 2nd Cycle of Basic Education.The theme of the research project was the inferential and criticai understanding of literary texts as a means of promoting values, a theme chosen after identifying needs during the observation period. Throughout this document,the work carried out will be explained,as well as the results obtained and the answer to the research project's problem question "How can inferential comprehension and criticai comprehension of literary texts enhance the development of values?".
