Abstract(s)
e comunidade envolvente.
This internship report mirrors the (co)construction and development of an education and social intervention project entitled “AGIR(AR) para um futuro mais saudável: um projeto de educação para a saúde em contexto associativo”, which was developed at AGIRAR, an association of relatives and friends of individuals with diagnoses of psychosis, based in Vila Nova de Gaia. The project participants were AGIRAR’s associates, professionals and leaders. As a project based in a participatory action-research methodology, it made possible the experience of several sharing moments with all participants involved, allowing the identification of difficulties and limitations, but also the pointing out of existing resources and potentialities. To this purpose, through participation and action, and in a logic of education for health and contribution for the development of this community, the project tried to respond to some of the main needs felt, and also to promote a greater involvement of participants in the association’s life, and a wider and richer relationship of the last with the surrounding community, in search of the production and diffusion of knowledge about mental health and the capacitation and empowerment of individuals with psychosis, their relatives and their social environment.
