| dc.description.abstract | Num momento em que a globalização continua a fazer-se sentir, as línguas enfrentam novos desafios e os estudos de tradução e interpretação ganham novas frentes, com abordagens revigoradas mas baseadas naquelas do século passado. É neste mundo onde toda a gente pretende comunicar a toda a hora, com qualquer pessoa, que o tradutor/intérprete emerge como mediador intercultural com um papel de extrema importância. É através dele e do seu conhecimento linguístico e técnico que a comunicação, entre outros indivíduos de diferentes linguas e culturas, é possível. Para tal, o intérprete tem de estar cada vez mais bem preparado para enfrentar os novos desafios que a globalização expõe. A formação de intérpretes já não é o que era, mas num bom sentido. Novas abordagens de ensino permitem com que intérpretes saiam dos estabelecimentos de ensino superior prontos para o mercado do trabalho, mais competitivos do que nunca. É sobre a formação de intérpretes que recai o objetivo deste estudo empírico. Os métodos de ensino estão a ser aprimorados para atingir níveis de excelência e, como tal, é necessário compreender o que sente o intérprete-formando durante a sua formação, para o moldar de uma forma cada vez melhor. Com recurso a materiais diversos, iremos tentar determinar em três momentos experimentais se o formando de interpretação sente mais ou menos stress ao longo da sua formação e se esses niveis afetam ou não o seu desempenho. Trabalharemos com formandos de uma das unidades curriculares de interpretação do Mestrado em Tradução e Interpretação Especializadas, ministrado no Instituto Superior de Contabilidade e Administração do Porto. | pt_PT |
| dc.description.abstract | In a time where globalization is more relevant, languages face new challenges and the translation and interpretation studies have different and invigorated approaches based, however, in those from the past century. It is in this world where everyone feels the need to communicate all the time that the translator/interpreter emerges as an intercultural moderator with a very important role to play. Through his linguistic and technical knowledge, the communication between other individuals from different languages and cultures is made possible. In this matter, the interpreter has to be prepared to face the new challenges exposed by globalization. Interpreter training is not what it used to be, in a good way. New ways of teaching allow interpreters to finish their degrees and be ready to tackle the labour market, more competitive than ever before. It is about interpreter training that this empirical study is focused on. The teaching methods are being honed to achieve levels of excellence and as such, it is necessary to understand what interpreting trainees feel during their training in order to teach them in a more proficient way. Through three experiments, supported by varied materials, we will try to determine if interpreting trainees feel more or less stress throughout their training and if the stress levels do affect their performance. | pt_PT |
