Abstract(s)
The Civil Construction sector is experiencing a period marked by the increasing complexity of projects, the constant pursuit by companies for a place in the market, the satisfaction of customers' needs and demands, and the need to produce with greater efficiency and effectiveness, always linked to the factor of innovation. Project management is a methodology that supports these needs, involving the definition, planning, monitoring, and control of projects, so that the proposed objectives are achieved. In this sense, the success of organizations increasingly depends on their internal management and control processes and the constant analysis of the market in which they operate, as it becomes more competitive and dynamic. The main objective of this dissertation is the application of the Earned Value Management (EVM) methodology, which consists of a management model that allows monitoring the status of a project in terms of cost and schedule control and obtaining forecasts about its future progress. The application of the EVM methodology was developed at the level of the reinforced concrete activity of a construction project, providing a follow-up of all the works involved in the activity in order to analyze and evaluate the results obtained, drawing conclusions about the case study related to that project. The case study will be developed from the contractor's perspective, where the proposed management model will be implemented and validated based on the application to an ongoing project.
