| dc.description.abstract | Tendo por base tendências internacionais que revelam a necessidade de uma modernização dos serviços prestados pelos Centros de Atividades Ocupacionais (CAO), tendo em vista o acesso e adequação de oportunidades de participação em contexto comunitário, este estudo teve por objetivo retratar os domínios de atividade e participação promovidos pelos CAO, na região Norte de Portugal, quanto à sua representatividade nas rotinas, ao contexto em que se desenrolam e à significância para os utilizadores. Foi realizada uma pesquisa por inquérito – com recolha de 78 respostas a um questionário - e um estudo de caso com entrevista a 10 utilizadores e 2 técnicos de uma instituição. A construção do questionário decorreu de estudos prévios na categorização dos diferentes domínios de atividade – avaliados pelos respondentes em termos da sua representatividade, contexto e significância. Já as entrevistas obedeceram a um guião semiestruturado focado na determinação das rotinas dentro e fora do CAO e a sua significância. Os resultados deste estudo sugerem que as tipologias de atividade que ocupam maior percentagem de tempo nas rotinas típicas dos CAO são as manualidades, comer/ beber e as atividades físicas. Relativamente ao contexto, os dados revelam que a maioria das atividades decorrem em contexto institucional. A significância das atividades nesse cenário é definida por aspetos como a execução, per si, das ações ou tarefas e pelo sentido de competência. Fora do contexto institucional – i.e., na comunidade -, a importância das atividades define-se pelo envolvimento no desporto e promoção da saúde. A expansão de atividades no seio comunitário e que possibilitem a interação com outras pessoas sem incapacidade parece ser um desafio premente numa mudança ainda por operar na generalidade dos CAO que fizeram parte da amostra. | pt_PT |
| dc.description.abstract | Based on international trends that reveal the need for a modernization of the services provided by the Occupational Activity Centers (OAC), in order to increase the access and adaptation for opportunities of participation in a community context, this study aimed to describe the domains of activity and participation promoted by OAC in the Northern region of Portugal, regarding their representativeness in the routines, at the context in which they take place and about it significance for the clients. A research was conducted by survey – based at 78 responses collected from a questionnaire - and a study case based on an interview at 10 clients and 2 OAC professionals. The construction of the questionnaire was based on previous studies in the categorization of different domains of activity - evaluated by the answers given by OAC professionals in terms of their representativeness, context and significance. Regarding to the interviews, they obeyed a semi-structured script focused on the determination of the routines inside and outside the OAC and its significance. The results of this study suggest that the typologies of activity that occupy the highest percentage of time in typical OAC routines are crafts, eating and drinking, and physical activities. Regarding the context, the data reveal most of the activities take place in an institutional context. The significance of the activities in that scenario is defined by aspects such as the realization of actions or tasks and by the sense of competence. Out of the institutional context, for example in the community, the importance of the activities is defined by the involvement at sports and health promotion. The expansion of community-based activities that enable interaction with other people without disabilities is a pressing challenge in a change still to be made in the overall OAC that is part of the sample. | pt_PT |
