Abstract(s)
A finalidade do
envolvidos.
This report presents the development of the Research Project, entitled “Beyond the Mirror”, supported by the Research-Participatory methodology. This project was co-constructed with the subjects, namely women institutionalized with problems of alcoholism, who participated actively in the project, knowing all the procedures taken, as well as using their knowledge and skills to transform their reality. The need to understand people and to know how to put themselves in the place of the other led to the construction and development of this Project, as well to identify, analyze and evaluate different situations, problems and behaviors in which we intervened, through strategies and techniques, along with the subjects. The purpose of the Project was to empower people in the institutional context and in the intervention, promoting their valorization and developing their self-knowledge. The project was a part of the treatment of the institutionalized women, and the actions and activities carried out met the prioritized needs. Not all the objectives have been achieved once, that in would have been necessary more time in order to see more significant changes in the attitude and behavior of the ladies. However, the changes observed were significant for the lives of these ladies, since any change, however small, was valued in the Project. We did not look for rapid changes, but for changes that respect the time of each institutionalized lady, as well as of the professionals involved.
