Abstract(s)
This monograph is a reflection on the outcome of three years of practical research, which focuses on how living in a dual society limits our gender expression, and which resulted in the creation of the autobiographical solo In Between Me and Myself and the exhibition Self Mapping, both presented for the first time on July 13, at the Festival Noites na Nora, at the invitation of the Baal17 Company. This solo completes the D.U.A.L.I.T.A.T.E.M. triptych, composed of In Between Me and Myself, OXY-SEX-GEN, and The Point Where I Am, which although the previous order is its narrative order, creation wise, they were not conceived in that order, but in the order presented in the index. In these three years of researching, I have questioned the place of body and gender, trying to identify how the gray zone are found and traversed, trying to defragment the normative notions of duality, body and gender. Using my autobiography and memories, I tried through performance art to strip myself of symbols and meanings to deconstruct the duality imprinted on me.
