Abstract(s)
Portugal, as well as all the countries of the world, developed or developing, require and need good results in the construction sector and for this a good management of each work is essential. This management is nothing more than the study and implementation of strategies, by the executing entity, that allow the execution of the work on the job in the most effective way, and that allow the greatest possible gain, whether, in financial terms or in terms of the time and quality of the work, managing for this purpose human resources, materials and equipment, an integral part of each job.
Thus, the role of the Construction Management, as an integrating member between all entities/factors/external elements and the construction site, becomes crucial so that everything is aligned for the same purpose, which is the maximization of productivity and efficiency of the work, the reduction of costs and the final delivery of any project, the subject of a contract, with the quality due and within the parameters of the projects as well as deadlines.
It is also extremely important the task of monitoring the work carried out, allowing the analysis of the performance of different tasks in real time, observing them and collecting data that make it possible to draw conclusions regarding the efficiency of work and workers, consumption and wastes that exist, as well as the productivity that is obtained throughout the development of the project and how the results influence it, in order to promote continuous improvement within the company and improve results in upcoming tasks and upcoming projects.
