Abstract(s)
Both nationally and internationally, there has been a growing interest in matters related to balancing professional, personal, and family life, as well as the role that NP 4552 plays as a tool for improving the quality of life and overall satisfaction of stakeholders in the field of conciliation. As a result, this research aimed to diagnose the motivations, benefits, and obstacles associated with the implementation of NP 4552 at the national level. To achieve the proposed objectives, we adopted a deductive research approach, based on the survey research method. The research instrument used was a questionnaire. The primary motivations of organizations for the implementation and certification of a Conciliation Management System (CMS) based on NP 4552 are linked to the increase in satisfaction and quality of life of stakeholders, as well as alignment with the organizational culture. In this context, we found that motivations do not vary by industry sector or organization size. Regarding the perceived benefits of implementing NP 4552, the results suggest the following main advantages: improvement of organizational image, greater satisfaction of stakeholders, and an improved understanding of the conciliation needs of workers. We concluded that the private sector significantly perceives the benefits of "greater satisfaction of stakeholders" and "reduction of conflicts between professional, family, and personal life" compared to the public sector, and that small and medium-sized enterprises significantly attribute more importance to the benefit of "reduction of conflicts between professional, family, and personal life" compared to large companies. Furthermore, the research revealed that organizations with additional certified Management Systems experience higher levels of benefits compared to those without such certifications. Concerning perceived obstacles within organizations, our findings indicate a lack of knowledge about the benefits of conciliation measures, excessive bureaucracy, and the costs associated with implementation and certification. When analyzing obstacles by industry sector and organization size, we concluded that organizations belonging to the public sector generally present higher levels of obstacles compared to those in the private sector, and that the perception of obstacles varies depending on the size of the organizations. In this context, it was also observed that organizations with only the Management System certified based on NP 4552 significantly perceive the obstacle of "excessive bureaucracy" more.
