Insucesso escolar - Cursos vocacionais serão resposta?

| dc.description.abstract | A escola é caracterizada pelo elevado grau de heterogeneidade sociocultural, aonde encontramos motivações, interesses e capacidades de aprendizagem dos alunos muito diferenciados. Com o alargamento da escolaridade obrigatória surge um novo problema no sistema de ensino português, que alternativas oferecer aqueles alunos que não conseguem obter sucesso no ensino regular. São diversos os percursos alternativos que vão sendo propostos passando pelos cursos profissionais, cursos de educação e formação e mais recentemente pelos cursos vocacionais. Estes surgem no nosso sistema de ensino como uma alternativa ao ensino regular e tendo como objetivo desenvolver capacidades práticas nos alunos permitindo que por um lado concluam o seu percurso escolar e por outro adquiram capacidades práticas em determinadas áreas o que facilitará a sua entrada no mercado de trabalho. Este estudo teve como principal objetivo determinar se os Cursos Vocacionais estão a cumprir o propósito para o qual foram criados. Foi desenvolvido num agrupamento de escolas do concelho de Matosinhos, tendo sido inquiridos professores e alunos dos cursos vocacionais. Para obter uma maior dimensão da realidade deste Agrupamento no que concerne aos cursos Vocacionais, realizamos entrevistas com o seu Diretor, a psicóloga responsável pela seleção e a Diretora do Curso Vocacional. Os resultados por nós obtidos demonstram alguma insatisfação dos inquiridos relativamente à organização, funcionamento e propósito deste curso. Tentamos por isso elaborar um Plano de Ação que colmatasse as falhas relatadas pelos inquiridos e conduzisse os alunos ao sucesso escolar. | pt_PT |
| dc.description.abstract | School is characterized by a high sociocultural heterogeneity where completely different motivations, interests and students’ learning skills can be found. Due to the widening of compulsory education, a new problem in the Portuguese teaching system emerges: which alternatives can students who are not successful in the regular system be given? The alternative courses they are offered are varied, starting with professional courses, education and formation courses and most recently vocational courses. These appear in our education system as an alternative to the regular education, having as main objective the development of practical skills in the students allowing them on the one hand to conclude their studies and on the other to acquire practical skills in certain areas which will facilitate their entrance in the world of work. The main objective of this study was to determine if the Vocational Courses are fulfilling the purpose for which they were created. It was developed in a school cluster in the municipality of Matosinhos where teachers and students from the vocational courses were enquired. In order to have a greater dimension of the reality of this cluster, in what vocational courses are concerned, we interviewed its headmaster, the psychologist responsible for the selection of students and the head teacher of the Vocational Course. The results demonstrated a certain amount of dissatisfaction in what concerns organization, running and purpose of this course. Therefore we tried to create an Action Plan that could reduce the faults mentioned by the interviewed and would lead the students to success. | pt_PT |
