Abstract(s)
Cosmetic products are part of our daily lives, so we almost never realize it, they include a wide range of products in various categories, from the shower gel used in the morning bath, to the toothpaste or the soap with we wash our hands several times a day. In the case of a large number of products available on the EU market (over a million different products), it is important to provide consumers with specific, comprehensible and reliable information based on generally accepted methods, allowing them to obtain accurate information to make the best decision, to find the ones that best suit your needs. According to EU Regulation (EC) Nº1223/2009, cosmetic products are difines as "any substance or mixture intended to be put into contact with the external parts of the human body (epidermis, hair and hair system, nails, lips and organs external genitals) or with the teeth and oral mcous membranes, exclusively or mainly, to cleanse, to perfume them, to modify their appearance, to protect them, to keep them in good condition or to correct bodily odors". In this way, the stability and microbiological tests of the products have the objective of evaluating the physical, chemical and microbiological characteristics of the raw materials, finishd products and the interaction of these with the packages, generating reliable data, with a shorter time. Therefore, the verification of the conformity of the specifications must be seen as a necessary requirement for the quality, safety and efficacy of the product and not only as a regulatory requirement.
